After knowing each other for about 7 months, I only start to realize all the little problems between us. I don't really like you from the start yet I was willing to give you a chance, to know more about you and to be nice. Then, we start to be close and I do enjoy your presence. I genuinely thought we can get along well.

Slowly, little problems start to arise. I've always trusted you and believe in you. I've try to put away my first impression to know you more before I judge further, yet I was disappointed.

Finally, it's March. The last month in quarter 1. Time to chase up all the sales I've missed this two months. Ex-manager is back to lead us. Good or bad? So far I am still not used to have him around. Now that he's back, I gotta buck up and snake less often in case any Dr complain that I've not been visiting them frequently. 

The recent news about MH370 is really sad :( Praying the best for the passengers and crews.

Of changes

Whoops, been neglecting this bloggie for a while.

February is a short month, with only 28 days. 20 working days yet I took 5 days off so that leaves 15 days to chase target~~~!

Talked to WX few weeks back about work. She is stress about work - sales, KPI etc.. Though we both are medical reps, our working environment differs. Hmmm.. Maybe because the way we handle/see problems differ?

I'm the type that is willing to do anything in order to get sales, work less/ easier work. She prefers to stick to the rules/principle and guaiguai do work. hehe

Did my performance review today so that I can get confirm soon! So, I've been working for 6 months already. Looking back, it feels like I've come a long way from a fresh grad to a med rep. It really feels like it has been longer than 6 months. I'm appreciating my job more and also try to improve myself as well. Though I am getting lazier by day and sleeps through my morning.

I am also finding for things to learn so that my life will not only be about work, drama, sleep, eat.

It is CNY day 5 today already! How time flies ><

Ok, back to CNY Eve - Reunion Dinner.

 I always had my reunion dinner with my maternal grandparents and relatives as opposed to what other people usually do. Grandmother will prepare a table full of feast (steamboat, abalone, sharkfin soup). She was a wonderful cook. Every single item will be handled from raw to cook inclusive of the abalones (fresh not from cans), shark fins, sea cucumber and so. My grandfather was a fussy eater hence grandmother puts in all her effort to prepare the feast. Being young back then, I do not really enjoy dinner time but was looking forward to after dinner time where I get to play pop pop while my uncle walk the dogs. 

Now, grandmother could no longer stand due to bad arthritis so this year, we plan to eat outside. We had our dinner at Dynasty Dragon Restaurant and it was superb! Usually, the idea of eating out during CNY eve was not appealing as the restaurant offers set menu which were prepared earlier hence the drop in food quality. This restaurant was surprisingly good, keeping up to its usual standard. Yum yum! It was a great night where 17 of us gather around a big round table for dinner.

On first day of CNY, dad and bro will go back to dad's kampung to meet his siblings while mum and I will go shopping! We went 1U to shop and also to satisfy my mum's craving for ramen. Second day of CNY, we went to grandmother's place. Our favourite activity every year is of course gambling! Muahaha~ Love how much we bond with each other while enjoying a simple game. 

On the third day, my dad bought us shopping at Sogo and we had dinner at Kuchai Lama. Dearest cousin treat us for dinner~

Fourth and fifth day - Mum and me went to Pyramid and Pavillion to shop. Window shop. Hahaha

Team building 2014 @ Gold Coast Morib

As our team already had our kickoff meeting with principals earlier, so we were excused from our own company's kickoff meeting (The meeting, mock detaling part). We get to go for team building and stay for a night there - somehow like a company trip for our team! Sadly Darl can't join too cause I guess the director might not want people to be infected by her (muahaha). 

This time it was more relaxing and casual as our main objective was to go and have fun! Team building session is really challenging and fun thanks to the management there to plan all the activities. We had something like Amazing Race where we gotta play a few games to earn points to determine the winner. We were divided into 3 groups of 9 people for the session. I was divided into the same group as our director, training manager and another sales manager (and also some other reps). 

Some of the games include Trust Fall (where we need to climb up onto a metal rack and jump down, trusting our team mates to catch us in time), Spider Web ( gotta make it through the web by passing through the holes which can be use once), Leaking Drum ( A big barrel with lots of hole and we gotta fill it to the brim with only 2 pails) and also A (A giant bamboo A shape figure where someone gotta be on the horizontal bamboo while we pull/drag/move the bamboo through several cones). 

All of the games were challenging and we got 4 hours to play it. I've learn that my director and managers are quite fun to play together with. It was exhausting yet enjoyable time with them as we run along the beach, getting wet together while playing Leaking Drum, and also dancing 洗刷刷. 

Food there was horrible! :( So called international buffet with only 1 choice of meat, fish and vegetable. That was when I feel that salads are the yummiest and most appealing food of all. -.- 

At night, boss belanja us at the pub. I was the only one that don't drink? LOL. Their first round was whisky -.- But I enjoy the live band there and also sea breeze! It was at the seaside :)

On the next day, we woke up super early to get breakfast and jump into the pool! There was a mini waterpark there hence we shall not miss our chance to go play. The water was freezing cold and 3 of us don't even know how to swim. Only play around at the slides. Then we head off to the beach for a walk and played trampoline! One of the happiest day I had so far this year hehe. Before we check out, we die die also wanna use the Jacuzzi.

Kickoff Meeting 2014 @ Melaka

Had my very first Kickoff Meeting of the year with Nestle @ Holiday Inn, Melaka for 3 days 2 nights. It was very grand and service there was awesome. Big hotel room, comfy bed and also a goody bag personalised with our names waiting for us as we reached hotel. 

Weee! We even got RM50 Aeon voucher from NHS

 Meeting with the whole team is always great and productive! I don't mind meeting every week if we get to have a good discussion session. Hehehe. We have to present our sales report for the past year to our director and principals hence it was quite stressful. Luckily it went smoothly though my sales figure was not that good. 

We were pampered while we were there. Enjoyed the buffet breakfast and lunch there with 2 tea breaks throughout the day. Then for dinner, we were brought out by the tour guide to try some local food. First night was portugese food while the second night was nyonya food.

 For the first day lunch, we had 3 course Italian food in one of the restaurant in the hotel. 

The best part must be enjoying with my dear colleagues especially from outstations ones. Sadly darl couldn't join us as she was down with POX. hahaha The surprising part was that we had a product assessment which we did not get to know until the day before. (Please let us pass ._.).. 

We also get to enjoy Jonker night market and the river cruise at night after a long day of meeting.

The start of 2014 has been slow and lazy for me. Still no mood for work as no new manager around. I was surprised when our SFE Manager said that we are going to Melaka for our Kickoff Meeting! Woohoo~! First outstation trip with company and the team~! Too bad Awina and Von not joining :(

This few days was busy preparing for our presentation and time to buck up on our selling skills too. Tsk tsk tsk.

Overview of my 2013 - Part 2

The next big thing in 2013 must be getting a full time job. Now I can proudly say I'm employed as medical representative. 

Before graduation, I did not really put much thought on what kind of job that I would like to do. I know I will try to avoid going back into a food factory to work after my exposure to QA/QC line during my internship. Desk-bound jobs are not my type. I remember back then during internship, I would dread the weekdays morning, looking forward to lunch time and can't wait for 5.30pm. I don't like being stuck in a lab/office for 8 hours, doing endless paperworks and face foreigners (who barely understand what I wanted to say). Plus, working in lab have many restrictions (no skirts/dress, no make up, no perfume, no nail polish blablabla). Sucks to be stuck in lab, facing the same people everyday with minimal contact with other people.

I also don't see myself being in the medical sales line as well. I am not good at talking to strangers, nor selling things/ promoting things. Though I am a local here, I barely know my way around. I don't like stepping out of my comfort zone to try to do something new. I don't like being alone for anything. 

Now, I must say, medical rep is awesome! Provided with proper training, I no longer find it difficult to try to promote my products though I still find myself on the quiet side (not a very chatty person especially to new people). I love my job now. I am also very very fortunate to have Von with me in the same company, same team. My colleagues are superb, fun to be with. My ex-manager was also good (very father-ly and also naggy). Before I work, meeting used to give me the impression of serious discussion session with superiors and I also scared that I might not be able to contribute any useful inputs. But meetings now means milo session (free milo!), sharing info with my team mates, request to manager what I want/need and also lots of laughter. Slowly, I start to see myself in this field, finding my way to survive here.

Besides the better pay of being a med rep, the flexibility of time is also what I love. Hey, I can wake up naturally every morning and decide myself what time to go home. How cool is that? :)

Plus, meeting all sorts of people and interacting with them is also part of the fun. 

I also love the weekend eat group! We get to keep in contact and meet up at least once a month and coincidentally, most of us are med reps. We rock!
